VMware Carbon Black Appoints New Country Manager for Security Business Unit in Japan

TOKYO — November 13, 2019 —VMware Carbon Black, a leader in cloud-native endpoint protection, today announced it has appointed veteran IT security leader Itsuo Iso as Country Manager for VMware’s Security Business Unit in Japan.

VMware announced its acquisition of Carbon Black on October 8. As part of the acquisition, the company created a Security Business Unit under the leadership of former Carbon Black CEO, Patrick Morley, who now serves as the Business Unit’s General Manager.

Mr. Iso joins VMware’s Security Business Unit to lead business development and channel partner engagement in Japan. He brings a strong track record spanning more than 30 years in the IT industry to VMWare Carbon Black. Over that time, Mr. Iso has amassed proven credentials for enterprise sales and is recognised as a senior executive in the technology industry with a demonstrable track record, having successfully run multi-hundred million dollar P&Ls. He has also worked in a number of start-up organisations.

Prior to joining VMWare Carbon Black, Mr. Iso served as the Japanese Country Manager at Netscout Systems.

Mr. Iso was also President and CEO of privately held managed open cloud company Mirantis, where he was responsible for formulating the Japanese entity and hiring the Japanese team as well as signing up resellers and OEM partners. Mr. Iso previously served as Managing Director for Cisco Systems NTT Docomo Sales where he managed Cisco’s largest account in the region, NTT Docomo. 

During his career, Mr. Iso has also worked for technology leaders including: Hewlett Packard, Dell, Verizon and Vodafone in senior sales and marketing positions.
