Craig Dobson

Duncan Hewett is the senior vice president and general manager for VMware’s business in Asia Pacific &amp; Japan. In this role, Hewett is responsible for VMware’s sales, business strategy and services across the region. He is adept in executing go-to-market strategy across a multi-product and multi-cloud platform supporting digital transformation of enterprises and believes that a customer centric behavior is critical for an organization’s growth.

Prior to this, Hewett was leading IBM’s Software business for Asia Pacific region. In his 29 year long career, he has held several senior leadership roles across IBM’s business units, including Enterprise Sales, Acquisition Integration, Subscription &amp; Support and Sales Operations. Duncan joined IBM’s software business through the acquisition of Lotus where he was the general manager responsible for all sales, marketing and services in Australia/New Zealand.

Hewett graduated from the University of Sydney with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Ed sits on VMware's EMEA Technical Leadership team, supporting pre-sales teams as they deliver solutions for customers looking to build multi-cloud application platforms for both modern and traditional apps. He leads a virtual team of Application Domain Architects who are responsible for taking VMware's value in this space to our customers, and in turn look after an EMEA-wide Subject Matter Expertise organisation.

Joe Baguley is VMware’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for EMEA, joining VMware in July 2011. He helps develop and communicate VMware’s strategy and vision with customers and partners, using his wealth of experience to help organizations reduce costs and better support users and business needs. As part of VMware’s Office of the CTO and its representative in EMEA, Joe assists VMware’s customers in understanding how to use today’s advances in technology to deliver real business impact and plan for disruptive technologies of the future, as well as working with them to inform VMware’s R&amp;D processes.

Joe is a recognized leader within the European technical community and is considered one of the world’s most influential IT global leaders, currently positioned 26th on Tenfold’s global list of the top 79 Chief Technology Officers. He speaks regularly at industry events, including The Economist’s Innovation Summit, to the broadcast media, including BBC World News and BBC Talking Business, and appeared in the Computer Weekly UKtech50 and the Information Age Top 50 Data Leaders.

He has played a key role in CloudCamp and other events, communicating how cloud technology fits into the broader IT landscape.

Joe previously spent 10 years at Quest Software where he was CTO of EMEA, shaping its direction and strategy.

He is a member of VMware’s Executive Sustainability Council, a formalized component of the company’s Corporate Sustainability Strategy to provide insight and oversight, and to drive cross-company initiatives. In addition, Joe is also on several advisory boards at the European Commission and ETSI and is a founding committee member of the Data Centre Specialist Group at the British Computer Society, which helped shape the European Code of Conduct for Data Centres.

Joe is based in the U.K. with a remit across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Karen Egan is the Senior Vice President Global Support, VMware, based in Cork, Ireland. She is responsible for ensuring customers are successful in adopting the company’s newest technologies in their public and private clouds and ensuring customer success with VMware solutions, overseeing critical accounts and escalations for all VMware customers.

Karen joined VMware in 2007 as a manager within the Technical Support team. Since then, she has remained in the Global Services division. Prior to this, Karen has worked for several American corporations including Motorola and Apple. Most recently at Motorola, Karen ran the support and new product introduction for 2G and 3G OMC products. With a background as a Software Engineer, Karen also developed and supported the development of software for Apple, specializing in the development of applications used in the manufacturing of desktop computers.

With 24 years of experience in the Software and IT industries, Karen’s passion for customer management earned her VMware’s Global Support Person of the Year award in 2014. She was also named as International Leader of the Year at the FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards. Karen holds a BA in Math and Computing and a Higher Diploma in Applied Science (Modeling and Numerical Computing), both from University College Cork.
