VMware Expands VMware Ready™ Program to Networking and Security Partners

New Program Enables Partners to Integrate, Test and Certify Networking and Security Solutions with VMware Cloud Infrastructure

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug 22, 2012 – VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced the expansion of its VMware Ready™ Program to its networking and security partners. The new program will enable customers of all sizes to continue utilizing their existing investments in networking and security products, while realizing the efficiency and agility benefits of VMware cloud infrastructure through validated joint solutions.

“The VMware Ready™ for Networking and Security Program will enable our robust partner community to easily integrate their products with VMware cloud infrastructure, including VMware vSphere® and the VMware vCloud® product family, to deliver validated joint solutions,” said Hatem Naguib, vice president, Networking and Security, VMware. “This new program will enable customers to lower operational costs, meet compliance requirements, and accelerate time-to-market by helping them quickly locate certified solutions that combine trusted networking and security technologies from our partners with the flexibility and security of VMware cloud infrastructure.”

The VMware Ready for Networking and Security Program will incorporate a comprehensive set of partner enablement tools, from reference architectures to hands-on training courses for partners. Partner solutions that pass formal testing criteria will receive the VMware Ready certification and logo, signifying to customers that they have met specific VMware integration and interoperability standards and are optimized to work effectively with VMware cloud infrastructure.

Software development kits (SDKs) will be available in October, and final certification for partners will occur in mid-2013.

The VMware Ready designation indicates that after a detailed validation process a partner has received VMware’s highest level of endorsement and will have its solution listed in the VMware Solution Exchange.

The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program that makes it easy for customers to identify partner products that are certified to work seamlessly with VMware solutions. Customers can leverage these products and solutions to lower project risk and realize cost savings over custom-built solutions.  With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes best-of-breed technology partners with the shared commitment to bring the best expertise and business solution to each unique customer need.
