Powered by VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud, Embratel can create new revenue streams that complement the company’s MPLS offerings

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), a leading innovator in enterprise software, today announced Embratel will offer new software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) services powered by VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud. As a result, Embratel said it will expand its portfolio of reliable and flexible services for customers and advance its business growth with the addition of new revenue streams. With a strong presence in the IT, fixed networks and corporate mobility industries, Embratel is one of the largest telecommunications operators in Brazil, and is part of the Claro Brasil, a leading group in the segment across the country.

With NSX-SD-WAN powered services, Embratel said it can effectively meet evolving customer demands for an agile, reliable, manageable, and more secure software-based networking solution, while enabling uniform connections to cloud-delivered services with confidence. VMware NSX SD-WAN technology simplifies networking activities, delivering elastic transport, performance for cloud applications, and integration with advanced services – all through zero-touch deployment.

“Embratel’s mission is to better serve the infrastructure needs in Brazil and the larger Latin America community,” said Marcello Miguel, Marketing and Business Executive Director at Embratel. “Our new services powered by NSX SD-WAN will improve Embratel’s existing MLPS services, offering enterprise customers the flexibility to choose the network infrastructure best suited to support their customers’ overarching business goals.
