【2019年5月30日（米国時間）カリフォルニア州発】VMware,Inc.（NYSE：VMW）は本日、2020年度第1四半期（2019年2月2日～2019年5月3日）の業績を発表しました。
第1四半期の概要
- 第1四半期の売上高は22億7,000万米ドルで、前年同期比13%増
- 第1四半期のライセンス収入は8億6,900万米ドルで、前年同期比12％増
- 第1四半期のGAAPベースの純利益は、前年同期の9億4,200万米ドル（希薄化後1株当たり利益：2.29米ドル）の純利益から、Pivotal Softwareへの投資に伴う1億3,200万米ドルの評価益を含め、5億500万米ドル（同1.21米ドル）になりました。第1四半期の非GAAPベースの純利益は、前年同期の5億1,600万米ドル（同1.26米ドル）から、5億5,300万米ドル（同1.32米ドル）になり、同1株あたり利益は前年同期比5%増

VMwareは、年間売上高を100億3,000万米ドル、GAAPベースの営業利益率を21.4%～22.8%、non-GAAPベースの営業利益率を33%とする2020年会計年度の通期ガイダンスを維持しています。
また、VMwareは取締役会において、2021年会計年度末（2021年1月29日）までに15億米ドルを上限とした自社株（Class Aの普通株）の購入が承認されたことを発表しました。自社株の購入は市場の状況に応じて、公開市場もしくは民間取引を通じてその時々で行われます。この自社株購入は、2017年8月に発表された現在進行中の10億米ドルの自社株購入プログラムに追加で行われるものです。なお、こちらの自社株購入プログラムは第1四半期末の時点で、残り2億4,300万米ドルとなっています。

- VMwareとAWSはパートナーシップの拡大を発表しました。これにより、AWSはVMware Cloud™ on AWSを再販できます。このサービスは最近開設されたカナダ、ムンバイ、パリ、シンガポールのゾーンを含む、世界14のリージョンで提供されています。
- Dell Technologies Worldで、Dell、Microsoft、VMwareは次のパートナーシップの拡大を発表しました。

- VMwareはPartner Leadership Summitで、VMware Partner Connectを公表しました。VMware Partner Connectは、飛躍的に簡素化された柔軟性のある新しいプログラムで、来年初頭より開始される予定です。この新しいパートナプログラムにより、パートナは自社のビジネスモデルに合った手法でVMwareとビジネスを進めることができるようになります。
