Bengaluru, February 3, 2021 – VMware India hosted the second edition of VMware Nirmaan- a unique forum committed to building a gender-balanced leadership talent pipeline and creating a supportive ecosystem for women in technology. The virtual event saw industry leaders come together to inspire the next generation of women leaders by fostering dialogue on how organizations can help drive inclusion to build a resilient workforce.
The two-day event featured leaders such as Dr. Neeta Verma - Director General at NIC, Govt. of India, Ms. Harmeen Mehta, renowned leader in Telecom & IT industry, Dr. Rohini Srivathsa - National Technology Officer (CTO), Microsoft India, Ms. Mythily Ramesh - Co-Founder & CEO, NextWealth, Ms. Kirti Patil - Joint President, IT & CTO, Kotak Life, Ms. Purnima Padmanabhan - General Manager Cloud Automation, VMware.
The forum brought together over 2000 women professionals keen on building a more equitable industry where women are represented without bias across levels. Key industry leaders on the panel shared their views on how technology can be a force for good in the post-pandemic era. They also discussed the future of innovation to inspire technology-driven positive change across hierarchies.

It highlighted how technology can play a role in elevating the Indian economy. Women have to contend with several unique challenges on their career journey. VMware Nirmaan 2021 aimed at helping women understand and address the pressure they place on themselves as well as provide an overview of the possibilities that can be unlocked with technology. It placed equal emphasis on diversity and inclusion programs, mentorship and individual action on tech-fueled innovation and lateral thinking.
The event also saw VMware leaders such as Mr. Prem Velayudan - Senior Director, HRBP, VMware converse on the importance of mental health. Ms. Purnima Padmanabhan - General Manager Cloud Automation, VMware also delivered a keynote and shared insights on her journey as a leader in the software product development industry. The event also saw an interesting session by master storyteller Ameen Haque of Storywallahs on the art of business and brand storytelling and building ones personal brand.
VMware Nirmaan 2021 saw the attendees engage in progressive interactions, exchanging experiences and perspectives, and understanding how they could take charge of their career growth.
