Today VMware stockholders voted to approve the proposed acquisition of VMware by Broadcom, Inc. The vote took place at a special meeting of stockholders this morning. The deal is expected to close in Broadcom’s fiscal year 2023, which began in November 2022.
When the transaction does close, the combination of VMware and Broadcom will offer our combined customers more choice and flexibility to modernize, build, deploy, connect, and protect applications consistently, regardless of where they run: from the data center to any cloud, and to the edge.
Meanwhile, VMware’s focus as a standalone company remains unchanged as we continue to help our customers navigate this multi-cloud world.
