Karen Egan

Karen Egan is the Senior Vice President Global Support, VMware, based in Cork, Ireland. She is responsible for ensuring customers are successful in adopting the company’s newest technologies in their public and private clouds and ensuring customer success with VMware solutions, overseeing critical accounts and escalations for all VMware customers. Karen joined VMware in 2007 as a manager within the Technical Support team. Since then, she has remained in the Global Services division. Prior to this, Karen has worked for several American corporations including Motorola and Apple. Most recently at Motorola, Karen ran the support and new product introduction for 2G and 3G OMC products. With a background as a Software Engineer, Karen also developed and supported the development of software for Apple, specializing in the development of applications used in the manufacturing of desktop computers. With 24 years of experience in the Software and IT industries, Karen’s passion for customer management earned her VMware’s Global Support Person of the Year award in 2014. She was also named as International Leader of the Year at the FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards. Karen holds a BA in Math and Computing and a Higher Diploma in Applied Science (Modeling and Numerical Computing), both from University College Cork.
