HIMSS 2022: Enabling Smart, Connected Patient-Centered Care

VMware Staff

Today at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, VMware will showcase the latest solutions to help healthcare organizations around the world enable smart, connected, patient-centered care in booth #2121. VMware powers healthcare leaders like Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sentara and University Hospital Essen to build, run, manage, and better secure all apps across clouds.

“On the frontline of the pandemic, healthcare organizations have had to make tough decisions very quickly to maintain patient-centered care across the continuum,” said Enrique Estrada, senior director, healthcare industry solutions. “As CIOs and IT leaders continue to accelerate their digital transformation timelines, innovation is driving a new standard of care that extends beyond the four walls of a hospital system. We are helping our customers and partners along this journey and giving them the power to innovate faster and build resilient patient-centered operations on a trusted digital foundation.”

VMware Named Innovation Leader in Enterprise Health Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Service by Frost & Sullivan

VMware today announced it has been named an Innovation Leader in the Frost Radar™: Enterprise Health Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Service Providers by Frost and Sullivan. VMware was recognized for delivering a digital foundation that helps healthcare providers boost real-time, connected care with support for any health apps, from any device with anytime access to patient health data. The study credits VMware’s top position to the breadth of its product portfolio across cloud, apps, workspace and security, empowering care teams.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown healthcare organizations the importance of agility and business continuity,” said Dr. Rishi Pathak, industry principal-digital health transformation, Frost & Sullivan. “The cloud is more critical than ever in helping healthcare providers respond to the pandemic and prepare for future disruptions. VMware’s multi-cloud-focused strategy puts it in a strong position in the competitive enterprise health cloud industry to help providers and payers build resiliency and better, connected patient care.”

The Frost Radar is a robust analytical tool that evaluates companies across two key indices: their focus on continuous innovation and their ability to translate their innovations into consistent growth. Companies plotted on the Frost Radar are the leaders in the industry for growth and innovation, and instrumental in advancing the industry into the future.

“The kind of digitalized and personalized medicine everyone is calling for today would not be possible without a partner like VMware.”

Improving Patient Outcomes with Innovation

More than ever before, innovation is at the heart of healthcare. Providers, care teams, and staff are now relying heavily on digital technologies to communicate, diagnose, treat, and stand-up new services at a moment’s notice. In January, VMware found that 93% of healthcare executives reported that their organization would pursue app modernization in the first half of 2022, with “increased deployment options” named as the leading driver behind this goal.1 Cloud and modern app strategies will continue to be driven by demands for high-quality care, and organizations are moving quickly to define cloud architecture, operations, security, and processes.

The focus on innovation is also being driven by the future of work. Healthcare organizations quickly transitioned to empower and scale remote care teams and staff. And the ‘work from anywhere’ model is expected to expand this year. More than half of healthcare executives (61%) expect that their hybrid workforce will grow in 2022 and 60% are investing in infrastructure capabilities to improve remote bandwidth issues.1 Additionally, 56% of healthcare executives are devising new work models and processes to support distributed teams, and 48% are rethinking security models for their changing workforce.1

As patient care expectations continue to evolve, VMware is helping healthcare organizations increase staff and clinician flexibility, efficiency, and response along with the improving the user experience. All on a trusted digital foundation that enables more secure access to patient data and clinical health systems from any device and location.
